Two Victorian Pieced and Embroidered 'Crazy' Quilts Late 19th Century The first, dated 1888 and signed Hart, also with initials HCH and CEB worked in thirty-five silk panels of the Crazy Quilt pattern with various polychrome fabrics and embroidery. The quilt containing various embroidered designs and hand painted floral vignettes. The second, worked in thirty-six silk panels of the Crazy Quilt pattern, with various polychrome fabrics and embroidery and containing various floral and geometric designs. Both quilts without backings. The first quilt with staining and the second with wear to fabric. D of first: 45.25 x 63in; D of second: 55.5 x 56.25in.
