About Weschler's

Weschler’s is an auction tradition in the DC Metro area, built on a reputation of trust and reliability.

Adam A. Weschler, Circa 1905-1910

Since 1890

Since 1890 when Adam Weschler held the first auction in Washington, we have continued our way of doing business––clear, fair and forthright, always placing the interests of our clients first. Weschler’s goal is to achieve maximum return for our clients at auction, whether the property is from a large estate, a local institution, a private collection, or the property of an individual.

Fourth and Fifth Generations

Fourth and fifth generations of the Weschler family now operate the business and continue to uphold the principles on which Adam Weschler founded his company––that the client’s interests should remain paramount above all others. To ensure this, Adam Weschler resolved that the company would neither buy nor own any of the items it sold at auction. We maintain this same policy today and act solely as a representative for the consignor.

Whether you are interested in buying or selling at auction, one item or an entire estate or collection, you will find Weschler’s can accommodate your needs and spark that certain delight that only auctions can bring.

A New Era

In 2017, Weschler’s embarked on a new era, moving our gallery and offices from their longtime home on E Street in Washington, D.C. to an expansive 25,000 square foot gallery and office space in Rockville, Maryland.  The new location boasts two large, light-filled exhibition rooms, modern offices, ample free parking and direct loading dock access for deliveries and pick up.

It’s been our pleasure to welcome many new patrons and clients, alongside our established customers, to our new home in Rockville.

We look forward to another century of service to the next generation of auction enthusiasts.
