Two Sino-Tibetan Bronzes 19th Century The first in the Zhou Dynasty style, the oval central section cast in relief on opposing sides with taotie masks divided by stepped and notched flanges and raised on a spreading foot, the shoulders attached with a swivel strap handle terminating in animal-head masks and enclosing a domed lid cast with a quadrant of chilongs and centering a knopped post finial. Green encrusted dark brown patina; the second, seated in dhyanasa on a double lotus base and wearing a tightly fitted dhoti and beaded necklace, looped earrings and a beaded jeweled foliate headdress diadem set with coral and turquoise beads and copper inlay, her hands poised in varada and mudras, her left hand holding the stem of a lotus flower supported at her shoulder and a flowering lotus attached to her right shoulder.
