Two Chinese Ivory Carvings 20th Century The first a figure of a Thai devotee, kneeling in lalitasana with hands in vitarka mudra, and wearing a loosely fitted and diaper carved robe with a beaded necklace and flower pen, dant, the foliate diadem centering a stupa, underside with incised Qianlong seal mark, on carved wood stand; the second an archaic bronze form cover censer, the bulbous body carved in sunken relief on opposing sides with fire breathing confronting dragons, flanked by outward scroll handles with loose rings and raised on three qilin-mask and animal paw feet, the removable top carved with a female fu-lion with pup finial above a frieze carved with alternating shou-character roundels and qilin-mask with loose rings, underside with incised seal mark.
