Pair of Arita Covered Urns Taisho Period Each ovoid body enamel and gilt painted with a continuous festival scene with musicians and dancers, beneath a drapery festoon and a tapering shoulder painted with floral reserves alternating with 'Auspicious Emblems' on a floral shippo ground, the domed lid similarly decorated, cresting in a partial gilt ovoid finial, base with inscribed fuku mark. H: 14in 35.6 cm Exhibited: Birmingham Museum of Art, Birmingham, Alabama, 1957-1975, on loan from present owners.
