Partly printed document (DS) signed while President, City of Washington, January 21, 1839; appointing Isaac O. Barnes as Naval Officer for the district of Boston and Charlestown in the State of Massachusetts; also signed by LEVI WOODBURY (1789-1851) as Secretary of the Treasury (1834-1841). Some staining along right side of document.
