Center recto of the urn featuring a painted romantic courtship scene in Renaissance dress, framed by modeled floral applications; center verso decorated with a painted floral bouquet, flanked by rocaille balusters; together with a pair of convertible candelabra. Interior of base of urn with SP/Dresden mark in blue and underside impressed 7739; undersides of candelabras with blue underglaze painted double cross-hatch mark, an impressed 456 and 5.

  • Each candelabra with an instance of inpainted, possible adhesive repaired breaks, one particularly prominent to an arm and two to post, with other lesser inpainted, stabilized fill, and adhesive repairs to floral applications throughout; possible minor inpainted stabilized repair to wing of a putto of covered urn; a partial hairline crack extending down edge of socket of one lower-candlestick and a partial possibly inherent partial stress crack extending from outer flared lip of opening of urn; a few scattered minor chipped losses, fleabites, particularly along outer edge of underside of base of covered urn, with other lesser fleabites along outer protruding points and edges, some with instances of possible inpainted repair; general handling wear, light abrasion with associated deterioration to gilding and pigmentation, particularly along outer edges and points of base of urn; possible slight slope to post of urn; a few scattered instances of minor scratching, foreign marks with contact staining; various minor inherent surface and glaze imperfections, blemishes, depressions, firing holes, and minor discoloration

    As a courtesy, condition reports for any lot are available from Weschler's prior to the sale, upon request. Such a condition report should in no instance replace first hand inspections by a prospective buyer or his/her agent. Any description of a lot’s dimensions and weights is approximate. Descriptions we make about lots may not describe all faults or restorations.

    All property is sold "As Is" in accordance with the terms set forth in paragraph 1C of Conditions of Sale. 

    Neither Weschler's nor the Consignor makes any express or implied warranty or representation as to the condition of any lot offered for sale, and no statement made at any time, whether oral or written, shall constitute such a warranty or representation.

    Weights given for stones we offer for sale are based solely on measurements and known gemological formula; they are approximate, not exact. Weight may differ once a stone is removed from its setting. You are advised to verify weight estimates prior to bidding at auction.

    While we do our best to protect the framing on the artwork, we will not be responsible for damage, regardless of cause.

    Weschler's will not remove an item out of its frame for shipping purposes once the lot has been sold. It is the purchaser's responsibility to find a third-party shipper who specializes in fine art handling for these cases.

Shipping

We are not able to offer any in-house packing and shipping service except for fine jewelry and coins shipped within the United States (shipped FedEx/Brinks for an additional fee, which includes insurance and requires signature for delivery). We are happy to recommend a number of local and national shipping specialists (a list of these shippers is included with invoices), but it is the responsibility of each purchaser to make their own shipping arrangements.

Keep in mind, property may not be released without receipt of purchase payment. In addition, once you have finalized shipping arrangements you must notify our shipping department to confirm your intentions. No property will be released without your confirmation with our office.

The purchaser acknowledges that if they use any Weschler's staff members to assist in moving, packing, or loading purchases, Weschler's will not be held liable for any damages that may occur.

Maryland Sales Tax is computed on the total purchase price, including Buyer's Premium. The purchaser will be required to pay the Sales Tax unless: (i) the property purchased is for resale and a valid Resale Tax number is presented to Weschler's business office at the time of payment, and the sales price is $200 or more; or (ii) the property is being shipped to a buyer located outside the state of Maryland by an ICC/USDOT licensed shipper/carrier.

Per our Terms of Sale, all property must be removed from our premises within four (4) business days post-sale from a Metro Timed Auction or ten (10) business days post-sale from a Capital Collections Auction.

For Metro Auctions, if items are not picked up by the following Monday after the auction or do not have firm shipping arrangements made, then a $5 storage fee per lot, per business day will be charged and your online account will be suspended. If paid items are not picked up/shipped within 10 days after the sale, Weschler's has the right to resell as abandoned property.

For Capital Collections Auctions, if items are not picked up within one (1) month following the sale, Weschler's has the right to charge storage fees and/or consider the items abandoned property.
