Chinese Embroidered Silk Red Ground Jacket and Skirt Late 19th Century Each worked in multi color silk threads, the jacket depicting immortals with attendants beside flowering trees with couched gold highlights and birds in flight, on a bird and floral damask deep red ground, the ruyi-head collar and hem similarly embroidered on an ivory ground; the pleated skirt embroidered with scattered flowers on a similar damask red ground, and with a blue and white floral embroidered border on black ground, enclosing a rectangular panel embroidered with butterflies, flowers and 'Auspicious Emblems with couched gold highlights.
