Having a stylized geometric form glazed in shades of green and brown. Inscribed illegibly on side of vase. Firing cracks to base.

Born in Bangkok, Thailand, Schmutzhart came to Washington, D.C. in 1961. Earning her M.F.A in sculpture at George Washington University, the artist taught fine arts at Marymount College and American University before becoming an associate professor at the Corcoran College of Art and Design, where she remained for twenty-two years. Schmutzhart showed her works in numerous group and solo exhibitions throughout the region. - Condition: Weschler''s provides written condition reports, upon request, for any lot in our auctions.
