Continental Rococo Style Sterling Gilt Singing Bird Box
Probably German, Circa 1900
The shaped rectangular body overall repoussé decorated with putti cartouche on a scrolling foliate ground, the oval lid opening to reveal a singing polychrome feathered bird which pivots with moving wings and beak. Underside impressed Sterling/ 925. Wear to gilding; lacking original key.
