Pair of Chippendale Walnut Side Chairs
Attributed to the Workshop of Benjamin Randolph, Philadelphia, Circa 1770-1780
Each originally armchairs; each with light-blue and green brocade silk damask upholstered slip seats; one seat with remnant of Benjamin Randolph's eagle and chinoiserie paper label. Each with Dutchman repairs at the stiles and side seat rails with plugged screw holes; the first with repairs to crestrail at the stiles; small crack to upper section of splat; right seat rail repaired with restoration to corner block; the second with repair to bottom part of splat.
