Three Royal Vienna-Type Partial Gilt and Polychrome Decorated Pictorial Cabinet Plates
Early 20th Century
The first, of Caroline Gräfin von Holnstein and signed Wagner, after a painting by Joseph Karl Stieler (German 1781-1858), the verso with underglaze blue beehive factory mark, inscription in red Caroline Gräfin Holnstein geb. Freiin v. Spiering, number 04767, above Germany and retailer's mark W.T.& V.R./ Philada. in red; the second and third, with allegorical scenes, one within a gilt and white slip floral decorated cobalt-blue border and the second with polychrome putti rectangular reserves on a blue ground alternating with putti heads along a gilt diaper ground, each with underglaze blue beehive factory mark. Some wear to gilding particularly to rims.
