A Chinese Gold and Silver Inlaid Bronze Urn and a Copper Alloy Footed Urn
19th Century
The first, archaic bronze-form with brown patina, having ring mask handles and two cast chilong bands beneath a shoulder with six silver and gold inlaid lappets and similar scroll banding, the underside with four vertical rows of archaic inscription; the second, compressed bulbous-form with reddish-brown patina, cast in low relief with a continuous scene of a pavilion and pine trees in a landscape, the underside with a cast nine-character Ming seal mark. The first with slight indentation to one handle.
